MANDENE was established in 1976 with a lovely red & white pembroke bitch JADEGLO CUTIE GIRL who was bred by my mother Gloria (McQUIRE) formally WOOD. Cutie Girl won Best Baby Puppy in Show at a Qld Corgi Club Specialty and so began the desire to show pembroke corgis. Mandene Corgis have won many major awards at NATIONAL,SPECIALTY and ALL BREED levels.
An exciting new era commenced in 2001 when I purchased my first cardigan from the late Pat Osborne(Finlai Kennels). My lovely Ch FINLAI BONNIE BLUE (Skye) a blue merle bitch was bred from Pat's last litter before she died.
Now other breeders are achieving from our breeding stock and making a benchmark on both breeds.
The breeding program through line breeding is a combination of Australian, New Zealand, United Kingdom lines will continue to strive for excellence and consistent achievers.
Mandene Corgis are raised on a natural raw diet combined with homeopathic and natural medicine keeping health at an optimum.
My special thanks to my mother Gloria McQUIRE(Jadecrest KNLS) whom I am indebted for all her guidance and assistance. All her experience of breeding successful pembrokes of BIS & BISS winners for over 40 years has been such a positive influence to me. Now we have also combined with Alex her husband and myself to start another Kennel- FINJAG. We have bred 2 generations of FINJAG Cardigans with excellent results.
